Integrations

We’ve made it easier to have your conversations attached to the places that matter - on the work tasks getting done. Whenever you start a topic from a note containing a Jira issue, Github Issue, or Pivotal Tracker story URL, Kohort posts a link to that clip into the comment section of that issue or story, along with a smart summary of that portion of the conversation.
Anyone who picks up the work later will have all the context and be able to watch the relevant part of the discussion recording

Here is a 2 minute video that shows how this works:

Configuring Integrations

You can get to the Integrations via the menu on the top right on the Kohort home page for your organization.

Jira

1.
Sign in to your Jira account and create a Jira API key
2.
Click on the Jira Software tile on the Kohort integrations page
3.
Enter your Jira username, API key, your Jira instance base URL (e.g. “company.atlassian.net”) and click Add Integration

Github Issues

1.
Sign in to your Github account and create a Personal Access Token, with the ‘repo’ and ‘read:user” permission scopes. Kohort needs these in order to unfurl Github Issue links, and to post comments on them with links to recordings.
2.
Click on the Github Issues tile on the Kohort integrations page
3.
Enter your Github personal access token

Pivotal Tracker

1.
Sign in to your Pivotal Tracker account and create a Pivotal Tracker API token.
2.
Click on the Pivotal Tracker tile on the Kohort integrations page
3.
Enter your Pivotal Tracker API token

Using Integrations

With an integration configured, you can paste a Jira / Github issue or Pivotal Tracker story URL into a note. It will automatically show the name of the issue or story in the note, to make it clear which issue/story the topic is about.

When ready to discuss that topic, click the start button, and hit done or start on the next topic when it’s time to move the conversation along.

Once the meeting is over, a comment summarizing the topic will appear on the Jira task, along with a link to that portion of the planning meeting recording.

Note: This integration only works with Public or Open rooms. Topics in private rooms will not be posted on Jira issues. Also, comments are posted from the user specified on the integration (explicitly for Jira, implicitly based on the API token for Github and Pivotal Tracker), at the end of the meeting.
